Dear webmasters:
Hello, everyone.
Recently, there has been a lot of discussion on the Internet about the 6.22 and 6.28 incidents, and we feel it necessary to explain what happened here.
In order to improve the search experience of Baidu users and allow the healthy development of the Internet ecosystem, we have recently updated some anti-cheating strategies and features. These strategies will gradually take effect on the evening of June 21. This update controls the situation where low-quality sites show more in search results; low-quality sites refer to: non-original or pseudo-original (little original content, a large amount of collected content, or machine-generated/modified content); these sites are not designed for end users, but only to obtain traffic from search engines.
Due to well-known reasons, we are unable to provide strategic details for this update.
In our assessment, this upgrade will affect 5% of search traffic. For ordinary users: The search experience will be improved, and the affected Query will present higher-quality and more authoritative results than before; for webmasters who provide high-quality, original resources, because we reduce or even eliminate the ranking of low-quality sites, you will get more traffic from Baidu.
Although our strategy has achieved a very high accuracy rate, it is still inevitable that accidental injuries will occur. If you are convinced that your site has been mishandled, please provide feedback through the http://tousu.baidu.com/webmaster/suggest channel. Although we cannot respond to the feedbacks one by one, we will carefully and carefully analyze every online feedback and reflect the analysis results in the next upgrade.
Here, we reiterate Baidu's position: to provide high-quality results to netizens; to ensure the healthy development of the Internet ecosystem; therefore, we encourage original high-quality content (which means more traffic returns) and will not tolerate cheating/low-quality content. We will constantly update the entire sorting system to make sure it stands on the right footing.
This update is the beginning of a series of projects. In the future, major updates to Baidu's anti-cheating strategy and data will be notified through the webmaster platform; see you soon.
